Defense verdict in motor vehicle accident case. Defendant's commercial freightliner, loaded with jet fuel on a freeway, struck a blacked-out vehicle stopped in the lane. Defendant was unable to stop or change lanes to avoid the collision. The driver of the stopped vehicle, Chase Nickens, was transported to the hospital but died from the injuries. The lawsuit was brought by Chase Nickens, Jr. and his mother as Guardian ad Litem. The 12 jurors unanimously found in favor of the Defendant.
